Texturing Reference

Started looking at texturing of the petals.

This is one of the types of sketch texture I want to achieve.

Internal "Tongue" details

Added some internal details.  I think I may go to something a little bit more longer and really exaggerate them.  This is good for 2am.

Finally able to get working on my thesis again!

So starting back on my thesis again, I have taken a production processes class. It has really helped me think about the documentation that is needed for the thesis process.  So with that, I am trying to find images and references that I can later use in my paper.

I pretty much have the sunflower already created and designed.  The texturing needs to be redone, but I'm going to be working on that this summer.

The tulip I quickly designed for an After Effects class but I'm not sure I like the design.  I want to actually use the petals for the mouth and eyes.  Unlike the current version I have that uses the flat side of the petal and carves a face into it.

Here is another looking at the base for reference.

Mystery Machine Wheel...

Well with the colors that ZBrush picked, it looks like I designed a wheel for the Mystery Machine!

Putting some polish on the front. All made in ZBrush with the new polygon tools.  I'm finally starting to get familiar with the new tools.

Attempt #1

Finally starting to get into my NPR projects.  After reading Non-Photorealistic Computer Graphics: Modeling, Rendering, and Animation (The Morgan Kaufmann Series in Computer Graphics) Hardcover – April 26, 2002
by Thomas Strothotte  (Author), Stefan Schlechtweg (Author)

It gave me some good ideas as to how to start this journey.  After a bit of connecting in the Hypershade in Maya, I was able to quickly produce this image.

Not perfected, but I basically have a condition on a normal sampler.  As the normals get further away from pointing at the screen, they get a crossed pattern.  The closer to the camera they point, then they get vertical singular stripes.
