texturing bumps.....

Well trying to continue on with the texturing, I've found that I think I need to res-up the lettering, it's a bit too stepped. I also added a funny mistake that made the sidewalls look like they were glass. Has kind of a cool look

Glad to see things are going well for you. :)

Looks good Mark! Would you ever go for an extreme close up though? Cause you don't really notice the jaggies on the letters. Looks like you need to flip the normals of those invisible faces. It does that because back face culling is on. Can't wait to see the whole car finished!

Kris- thanks for checkin it out. =)

Sketch- Thanks, I appreciate it. I probably wouldn't go in for that close of a shot, but I didn't mean resing up my texture map. Instead, I would make the reference picture of the wheel bigger so that when I do the magic select to get the lettering, it selects it with fewer jagged edges. sooooo I make my selections at a bigger image then crunch them back down to a manageable texture.

Normally I would totally agree with you about the normals, but this problem was caused by me assigning the lettering texture to the transparency slot. =\ oops. But it made me laugh and looked pretty cool.

I think it would be neat if they made tires to look like inflatables where you could see through them. (just as an aside)

"Can't wait to see the whole car finished!" -ha yeah me too ;)

Of course! Duh on my part. How would the lettering appear if it was the normals. ;)
